Manchester United are considering a surprise move for Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins when the transfer window reopens this summer.
The England international has had a fantastic campaign with the Villans. He has registered 27 goals alongside 13 assists in all competitions.
His contributions have helped Villa qualify for the Champions League, but this has not stopped the speculation over his future at the club.
TalkSPORT today claim that United are considering Roy Keane's recent advice to sign Watkins to provide competition to Rasmus Hojlund.
Hojlund has struggled in his debut campaign with only 14 goals. He is still relatively inexperienced and United definitely need a competitor.
Watkins would be a perfect acquisition with his vast experience, but the question is whether they can persuade the striker to leave Villa.
The Midlands outfit may be reluctant to part ways with the 28-year-old as they prepare for their comeback season in the Champions League.
If Villa were to sell, they could easily demand £100m for his services.
