Chelsea ready to pay clause to sign Serie A striker

Chelsea are ready to pay the release clause to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer.

The Blues have had another disappointing campaign in the Premier League and they are currently 11th in the table.

The west London giants need a huge turnaround of fortunes in order to qualify for European football next term.

Regardless of this, they have plans to land a marquee striker and Osimhen has been identified as the priority for them.

Osimhen has already confirmed his desire to move to the Premier League, but he won't come on the cheap for his suitors.

Napoli agreed a new contract with him recently with a €130m release clause and have no plans to sell him for less.

Chelsea need to recoup funds from player sales first but they are determined to pay the asking price to secure Osimhen.

Osimhen considers Didier Drogba as his boyhood idol and may not need much convincing to make the move to Chelsea.
