Erik ten Hag reacts after United's 1-0 loss to Arsenal
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has said that his team had the right spirit during the 1-0 Premier League defeat to Arsenal.
The Red Devils suffered their 14th loss of the top-flight campaign against the Gunners. They barely threatened the opposition goal and ended up with a frustrating outcome.
Speaking after the defeat, Ten Hag said that the players had the right attitude and spirit against the Gunners and it is a big compliment that they executed the game plan.
He said: "Mostly this team has the right spirit. I can only be happy and it is a big compliment for this team that they executed all that they could and they were fighting."
With the loss, United stay eighth in the league table with 54 points, three behind Chelsea and Newcastle United, who have a superior goal difference over them at the moment.
United's next league game will come against the Magpies in midweek. Even a victory may not be enough to guarantee European football, but they must take it to the final day.
