Arsenal favourites to sign Dutch winger?

Arsenal are reportedly among the favourites to sign Dutch winger Xavi Simons from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan with Leipzig where he has been impressive with 24 goal contributions to date.

Leipzig have explored another loan deal, but PSG are quite clear that they prefer a permanent transfer in the next window.

Amidst this, Sport claim that Arsenal have asked about Simons' situation and they could compete with Bayern for his services.

Barcelona are also in the mix for their former graduate, but they can only afford a loan deal with a possible option to buy.

It remains to be seen whether the Gunners can lure Simons to the club this summer, considering they are well covered out wide.

Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard currently compete for the left wing role while Bukayo Saka is guaranteed to start on the right wing.

Simons may not have the guarantee of regular first-team football. This could hamper the Gunners' prospects of signing him.
