Jamie Redknapp reacts after Arsenal miss out on title
Former Liverpool star Jamie Redknapp has said that Arsenal gave their best against Manchester City, but could not get over the line in the Premier League title race.
The Gunners registered 89 points in the Premier League campaign, five more than last season. Despite this, they missed out on the league title as City finished with 91 points.
Mikel Arteta's side were exceptional in 2024 with only five points dropped from a possible 54, but it was not enough to end the club's two-decade long league title drought.
Speaking after the game, Redknapp said: "This is the hardest part of the season. You have to show bottle, and show you're not scared."
"Arsenal have pushed Man City relentlessly this year and they have seemed to answer it time and time again."
Arsenal have made steady progress under manager Mikel Arteta and they have improved every season under the Spaniard. The onus will be on going one step higher in the next campaign.
