Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur interested in German centre-back?
North London giants Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly go on a bidding battle to sign Matthias Ginter from Borussia Monchengladbach this summer.
According to Sky Sports News, both the Gunners and Spurs are likely to pursue defensive reinforcements in the summer and Ginter has been earmarked as a target for both teams.
While Unai Emery's side are looking into Ginter to resolve their central defensive concerns, Spurs are said to be considering a move for the German with Toby Alderweireld continuing with his contract standoff.
Alderweireld has a release clause of around £25m which will become active during the final 14 days of the summer transfer window and Spurs are fearful that the Belgian will leave the club unless a new deal is signed.
Meanwhile, Ginter has managed to transform his career since leaving Borussia Dortmund 18 months ago and he is currently a regular at Gladbach with more than 50 starts for the club across all competitions.
