Manchester United to break transfer record to sign Bundesliga starlet?
Manchester United are reportedly planning a club-record bid worth £100m as they seek to lure Jadon Sancho from the ranks of Borussia Dortmund in January.
The Red Devils managed to make around £75m from the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan on deadline day and they are expected to make use of the money when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
According to The Sun, the former Manchester City graduate is set to be rewarded with a new long-term contract at Dortmund which will see his wages rise to around £190,000-a-week.
However, that is unlikely to deter United from making a mid-season approach and they are prepared to test Dortmund's resolve with a club-record package of around £100m.
Sancho has contributed 16 goals and 25 assists from just 58 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit. In the current season, he has contributed two goals and two assists and played a crucial role in the German Super Cup triumph over Bayern Munich.
Manchester United, who have accumulated four points from the opening two Premier League games this season, signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Daniel James and Harry Maguire during the recently-concluded summer transfer window.
