Real Madrid still interested in signing Dutch midfielder
Real Madrid are reportedly still interested in securing the signature of midfielder Donny van de Beek from Dutch champions Ajax.
The 22-year-old was heavily tipped to join the Madrid giants during the summer transfer window and manager Erik ten Hag even confirmed the interest from Los Blancos.
However, that did not necessarily translate into a move to the Bernabeu before the transfer deadline with the Dutchman opting to stay committed to the Eredivisie holders.
According to AS, Los Blancos are still keen on scooping for the services of the Netherlands international and they could make a fresh approach at the end of the ongoing campaign.
Van de Beek, who is contracted to Ajax until the summer of 2022, contributed 17 goals and 13 assists in 53 appearances across all competitions last season.
He has started the current season in fine form with two goals and four assists from seven appearances. Ajax return from the international break with a home game against Heerenveen.
