Chelsea star reveals transfer approach from Barcelona
Chelsea winger Willian has revealed that Barcelona had made an official approach to acquire his services during the summer of 2018.
The Brazilian had come up with a couple of standout displays against Barcelona in the Champions League during the 2017/2018 season and this caught the attention of the Catalan giants.
As a result, Willian was heavily linked with the Spanish champions during the course of the 2018 summer transfer window but ultimately the Blues rejected a package of around £50m from the Blaugrana for the Brazil international.
Speaking to DAZN, Willian has now confirmed that the Blaugrana had made an official offer to secure his signature but the Blues were clearly not interested in sanctioning his sale.
"The only real official offer I had came from Barcelona, last year, after the World Cup. Barcelona indeed presented an offer to Chelsea but it was rejected," he told.
Willian started the current season with a regular bench role as he had just recovered from a hamstring problem. He has since managed to start eight league games on the bounce and remains one of Lampard's most influential players.
