Manchester City plot summer transfer for highly-rated midfielder
According to Metro, Manchester City are the latest club to show interest in Aston Villa star Jack Grealish, with Pep Guardiola aiming to sign him next summer.
The Villains skipper caught the eye of the Cityzens at Villa Park on Saturday despite the 6-1 defeat.
Grealish has been closely watched by City’s rivals Manchester United, who are also keen on signing him.
The report also adds that Guardiola cites the 24-year-old as a key component in City's rebuild next season.
Despite Villa’s relegation-driven run in the Premier League this season, Grealish has so far enjoyed a brilliant campaign, racking up six goals and five assists in 20 outings.
The English midfielder was also influential behind Dean Smith side’s promotion last term. Grealish is highly known for his dribbling, shooting and playmaking skills.
Cityzens leapfrogged Leicester City after the 6-1 routing of the Villains on Saturday. However, the table-toppers Liverpool are 14 points clear of the Sky Blues. Even Guardiola admitted that the odds for the Reds to lift the Premier League title are high.
