Real Madrid to compete with Barcelona for Serie A striker
Real Madrid are set to compete with Barcelona for the signing of Inter striker Lautaro Martinez.
The Argentine has been heavily linked with Barca over a summer move as they see him as the natural successor to Luis Suarez.
However, according to Football Espana, Los Blancos are willing to meet Martinez's reported release clause worth £111m, thereby giving strong competition to their arch-rivals.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Manchester United and Chelsea are said to be tracking the 22-year-old, but the youngster is believed to be favouring a move to the Camp Nou.
Martinez has been in sublime form for Nerazzurri this season, finding the net 16 times in all competitions. The formidable partnership between him and Romelu Lukaku is a key reason why Antonio Conte’s side are at the top of the Serie A table.
Madrid seem to be keen on adding a striker to their squad due to Luka Jovic’s worrying form. They have also been linked with Lille striker Victor Osimhen.
Zinedine Zidane’s men are currently leading the La Liga table, three points clear of Barca.
