Chelsea set to battle Man Utd for Brazilian star

Chelsea are ready to battle Manchester United in the race to sign Juventus defender Gleison Bremer at the end of the season.

The Blues are expected to sign a marquee centre-back this summer with Thiago Silva set to leave for free at the end of June.

Bremer has been identified as one of their top targets and they are set to provide fierce competition to United in the pursuit.

The Brazilian has been closely monitored by the Red Devils in recent weeks and they are convinced that he is the right signing. 

The club are now set to face competition from the Blues and it remains to be seen whether they can prise him away in the summer.

Bremer has a release clause worth £43m in his contract signed in December last year. He has a dream of playing in the Premier League.

Provided the figure is matched, the Bianconeri would be helpless in their bid to keep him unless he commits to another long-term deal.
