Arsenal in pole position to sign Newcastle striker?
Arsenal are reportedly leading the race to sign Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak this summer.
The Gunners are expected to land a marquee centre-forward ahead of next season and they are looking at multiple transfer targets.
According to Teamtalk, Isak has emerged as one of the options for manager Mikel Arteta as he looks for a goalscoring marksman.
Isak was a top target for the Gunners during his time at Real Sociedad, but the Magpies beat them to his signature by triggering his €60m release clause.
The Swede has since been a quality signing for Eddie Howe's side. He has netted 16 goals this campaign despite multiple short term injuries.
It is now reported that Arsenal could make a fresh move for Isak this summer as they look to take advantage of Newcastle's FFP issues.
The Magpies need a big-money sale this summer to balance their books as they appear set to miss out on Champions League qualification.
