Man Utd in advanced talks over new deal for wonderkid

Manchester United are in advanced talks over a new contract for wonderkid Kobbie Mainoo, according to Football Insider.

The 18-year-old has been a revelation for the Red Devils since his breakthrough in late 2023 and he is currently an undisputed starter.

Mainoo recently earned his maiden call-up to England due to his performances and United are keen to reward him for his success.

The youngster is presently one of the lowest earners at the club at £20,000-a-week. He could receive around £50,000 weekly with a renewal.

United are also expected to include plenty of clauses within the deal which could see Mainoo's wages increase substantially with game time.

Mainoo is currently on England duty and he could make his senior competitive debut against Brazil at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

The Red Devils will be hoping that he will return unscathed. He is crucial to their chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season.

The club recently suffered a blow with Casemiro picking up a hamstring injury in the lead-up to the FA Cup quarter-final versus Liverpool.
