Chelsea leading race to sign Shakhtar Donetsk star?

Sudakov wanted by Chelsea

Chelsea are reportedly leading Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to sign Shakhtar Donetsk playmaker Georgiy Sudakov this summer.

The 21-year-old has been a key player for the Ukrainian giants from the number 10 role. He has registered five goals and two assists.

His progress has caught the eye of Arsenal and United, but reports claim that the Blues could have the upper hand over the duo in the race.

The west London giants already have a good relationship with Shakhtar, having previously signed Mykhailo Mudryk for €70m up front.

Back then, Arsenal were in pole position to land the versatile winger, but the Blues beat them to the player by proposing achievable add-ons.

It appears the club are now aiming to repeat the feat with Sudakov. Shakhtar are currently looking for €100m to part ways with him.

The Blues could offer a similar package as Mudryk and propose to pay the remaining funds based on his performances over the next five years.
